Procedure
Old Acrylic Sealer in Poor condition:
- Apply Seal Repair Solution in accordance with the outlined procedure.
- Application of an additional coat of PaveCoat is recommended to provide maximum UV protection and durability.
Recently Applied Acrylic Sealer (delamination & blooming):
- Apply Seal Repair Solution in accordance with the outlined procedure.
- Re-sealing may not be required providing that the surface is not tacky after treatment.
Note: For best results – Thoroughly liquify all layers of old sealer on the surface. Allow approx. 1 litre of solution per 2 – 3m² of surface area. An increased level of solution in warmer weather may be required due to high evaporation.
The following method of application is recommended:
- Surface must be free of grease, oil, dirt and contamination. Clean with Nu-Ecosafe Degreaser in accordance with the TDS.
- Ensure surface is completely dry prior to application of Seal Repair Solution.
- Liberally pour the Seal Repair Solution on the surface, starting at the most elevated position.
- Using a solvent resistant broom or mechanical scrubber, work the solution thoroughly into the surface in 2 – 3m² work areas. For best results, work each area twice to ensure that all sealer is completely liquified.
- Evenly distribute liquified sealer before moving to the next area. Where practical, avoid sealer pooling in mortar or expansion joints.
Allow the surface to dry (approx. 1 – 4 days) prior to pedestrian or vehicle traffic is permitted. Dry time will vary depending on the thickness of the sealer and conditions.
Note: Should the surface remain tacky after the drying period, Nutech Paints recommends the application of a reduced or thin coat of PaveCoat over the entire surface in accordance with relevant TDS.
