Application Instructions

Allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days before applying any coating.

The surface must be strong, dry, and free from loose materials, dust, old coatings, cement residue (laitance), and any contaminants such as oil, grease, chemicals, or curing/release agents.

The surface must be mechanically prepared by abrasive blasting or grinding to ensure proper bonding. Any oily areas must be cleaned and degreased before application.

When using the product for profiling screeds or coving mixes, the surface should also be primed.

Once the surface is prepared:

  1. Apply cloth masking tape to the wall and floor to create a straight edge. Mark the required height and width of the coving. The standard size is:

    Wall height: 100mm

    Floor width: 50mm

  2. Each kit contains 3 litres of bonding epoxy resin. Mix Part A and Part B together using a power mixer for 2 minutes.
  3. Use 500ml of the mixed epoxy resin to prime the area between the two masking tapes.
  4. Add the remaining mixed resin to the bucket containing the sand. Mix with a power mixer for at least 2 minutes until the colour and consistency are even.
  5. Place the sand and resin mixture between the masking tapes. Use a 50mm wide, 350–450mm long PVC pipe or a coving tool/trowel to shape and push the material up.
  6. After 10 minutes, use a clean brush dipped in a solvent such as methylated spirits and run it over the coving to smooth the surface.
  7. Remove the masking tapes after 15–25 minutes. Use the solvent-dipped brush to smooth the top and bottom edges of the cove and reduce any raised edges.
  8. Allow the coving to cure for approximately 5 hours. Remove any loose or rough sand particles, then seal the coving with 100% solids epoxy resin.

If you require a very specific colour match, please make your selection via actual swatches and colour boards available at our showroom.
